Focus on the 10th World Peace Forum : Expecting China and ASEAN to create a new miracle in the Asia-Pacific region

The 10th World Peace Forum opened in Beijing in July, 2022, which set up four discussions of general assembly and sixteen discussions of panel. Themed "Preserving International Stability: Commonality, Comprehensiveness and Cooperation", this year's forum includes topics such as the preservation of world peace, European security order, and the United Nations and world order, and regional organizations and region order. The panel discussions covered such hot topics as Ukraine and European security, new dynamics and new trends in China-ASEAN cooperation, China-Japan-ROK trilateral cooperation, BRICS cooperation, energy security, and the trend of “anti- globalization” etc. During the panel discussion on “China-ASEAN Cooperation: New Dynamics and New Trends”, participants expressed that China and ASEAN are each other's largest trading partners, and China-ASEAN cooperation has become the most successful and dynamic model in the Asia-Pacific region, which will continue to lead the economic recovery and development of the Asia-Pacific region. 
On the spot, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, Zhou Haoli said that in the first quarter of this year, the total trade between China and Indonesia had reached US$32.76 billion, increasing by 31.1% year to year. In addition, China has been the largest trading partner of ASEAN since 2009.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, exceeding the European Union, ASEAN had leaped to the largest trading partner of China. In 2021, trade between China and ASEAN grew by 28.1%, indicating the huge potential of economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN. At the beginning of this year, the RCEP jointly signed by China and ASEAN and other economies started to implement and run, which will constantly inject the dynamic power into the trade and cooperation between China and ASEAN. Ambassador Zhou Haoli said that China is one of the world‘s leading economies, and such a country became a member of RCEP, aiming to set up a more unified market. In the future, ASEAN and Indonesia are also willing to intensify their cooperation with China, further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership with China, promote the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, achieve sustainable development and jointly create a new miracle in the Asia-Pacific region.
