Mr Sun Xiao, who was in Singapore as part of a 100-strong business delegation, added that Chinese companies can sidestep obstacles resulting from trade tensions between China and the United States by investing in the region and capitalising on its resources and labour.

Within the framework on the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative and Global Maritime Fulcrum, Both sides signed a series of cooperation and documents in such areas as research and development of vaccine and genomics, green development, custom information exchange and enforcement, cyber security capacity building, marine, and important of Indonesian pineapples.
In April 2021, the Council of the European Union adopted a resolution on the EU Strategy for Cooperation in Indo-Pacific. The resolution states that the EU has the significant interests in the Indo-Pacific. The EU reaffirmed its interest and responsibility in the Indo-Pacific, which indicates that the center of the world economy is shifting to the Indo-Pacific. The EU Indo-Pacific strategy is mainly carried out at two levels of the whole EU and major European countries. For the whole EU, mainly planned are general policies and implementation mechanisms such as free trade and summit diplomacy. While major European countries converts their policies into practical implementation to strengthen their existence and influence in the Indo-Pacific, by means of diplomatic dialogue, military exercises and exchange of port visits etc.
